CONWAY, S.C.
South Carolina forestry officials say a wildfire that's destroyed more than 70 houses is mostly contained, but firefighters are preparing for shifting winds that could drive danger to other areas.
Forester Mike Ney told workers Sunday morning that winds are expected to shift Monday, blowing to the southwest.
Since the fire started Wednesday, winds have mostly driven flames north, parallel to the coast.
Ney says firefighters will continue to douse hotspots. They'll also widen fire breaks and create more of them to the south, and drop water from the air.
The blaze, which has damaged an additional 100 houses, remained 85 percent contained Sunday. Authorities say overnight humidity helped keep fire activity down
